Ancient Wisdom Treats Modern Diseases

Think Local Blueberries

Living in the Northeast we are lucky to have one of the worlds healthiest fruits growing in our backyard. There have been a multitude of studies citing blueberries neuroprotective effect, not to mention its also a great fruit for diabetics because of its low glycemic index. Another study was just released showing blueberries neuroprotective effect against cognitive decline. Neurotoxins are probably one of the reasons for brain decline as well as unhealthy food choices, every day pollution and chemical exposures and daily stress. Blueberries which are abundant around here in July and August are excellent for reducing damage to the brain’s neurons. They can easily be frozen or I love using the Wyman’s frozen wild blueberries throughout the year.
So I ask there all so many multi-level marketing (MLM) companies selling the latest and greatest super-antioxidant fruit from South America – why pay for these overpriced products grown thousands of miles away when we can get wonderful blueberries grown within a few hours drive?
